Surge Wind Water // Named Storms

Hurricane Preparedness

Hurricanes are logistics exams with a Greek alphabet. Surge kills at the coast; inland freshwater flooding and long outages kill the recovery. Katrina (2005), Sandy (2012), Maria (2017), and Helene (2024) each teach a different failure mode.

Prep early: fuel, water, meds, shutters/plywood plans, evacuation zone literacy, and a place to go that is not wishful thinking.

After the eyewall

Assume days without power and spotty cell. Offline Survival Guides and Wiki Library matter. Track restoration via Alerts/news radio habits; keep Archives mindset for what worked last storm.
